		<description>Last spring the boys and I caught site of some birds in a small lake by the highway where we often see trumpeter swans.  Something about these seemed different, though, and so we turned around and parked the car off the road to see.  
I&#039;d never seen anything like them.  They sure looked like they had pelican beaks but I didn&#039;t think we could have them this far inland or this far north (NW Montana).  Turned out, they were American White Pelicans, too!</description>

		<description>Awesome outing! That laminated reference is a great idea for wet weather and impatient little hands. I need to remember it next time we go to the marsh.

My memory is quickly fading, too, as far as nomenclature goes...I forgot all about my black-crested night heron book! It&#039;s in an attic somewhere getting moldy, probably! Nothing lasts but the sisterhood ;)</description>
