Seth came home from school with this yesterday. It is a wooden “boat”. Daniel Beard has numerous chapters devoted to building boats so I thought I better snap a few shots. Seth told me not to put the “boat” in water because some of the pieces are attached with glue that is made from water, and if we put it in water it might fall apart. I guess that even if your boat does not actually float it is still healthy to mess around with wood, nails, crayons, a beefy hammer and your imagination.

and follow the adventure:
oh most definitely! great boat, Seth.
That is some hefty boat. The last time my son did that he did put it in water and the paper towel tube just sank. Oh well, we blamed it on the “wind”.
Three cheers for experimentation! Besides soggy cardboard quickly becomes soil!
