Do you have crazy wild testosterone maniacs living under your roof? Do you spend your days “battling for justice”, modifying “alien ships”, and keeping an eye out for dead stuff to poke with a stick? Sometimes our boys look thoughtful and innocent like in the photo to the left below. However, more often than not they look like the photos of spidey there on the right…I rest my case.
As much as we try to fully embrace our little boys they sometimes drive us crazy. This is why Stephanie and I get together and go on “fairy benders”. We self medicate with uninterrupted girly time where we use our finite muscles to make stuff. We made this batch of harvest fairies with left over corn husks and oak caps that we found under some of our favorite trees. Ok! And a few bits of silk flower bling from the craft store. We sold them at our school harvest fair and made $155! Not bad for a few boy crazy moms who just needed a little balance in their lives.

Too funny. Yes, my house is full of all boys, plus boy cat. I grew up in a house full of girls though, and this is a relief. Bwah ha ha!
No girlfriends to do girl stuff with here, but I get my estrogen therapy knitting.
yes and yes and OHH! yes, do i ever need a bit of girl therapy.
fantasitc faeries ladies! they are so cute!
omg. therapeutic indeed. We move on now to wreaths..WITH wreath fairies! and and and….
Thanks for the laugh! Many times during the day I wonder where my son gets his energy from and even though the photos I put on my blog look nice and relaxed, I have plenty on the go blurs saved away. Love the fairies! Do you sell any online?
Hi Moms,
Glad we could make you all laugh a bit. We don’t sell them online, but maybe we need to open up an all about fairies ETSY shop, we could really expand our fund raising horizons.
+ Alis
Hi Alis,
I knew I should have asked for fairy making lessons when I saw you last. I am now planning the second annual Zuzu’s Garden Faerie Hunt and would love to make these as one of the hidden treasures. Bertie brought me a few when she was here and I am even more impressed by the new wings and arms addition (since the ones I have from Easter)…alas, I think I am more likely to end up pulling my hair out (or perhaps theirs) if I attempt these. Meanwhile I am working on paper butterflies and flowers, something I can wrap my head around.
